Are you thinking about moving to Wisconsin? If so, Madison is a great city to live in. As the state capital, it offers a vibrant urban culture with lots to see and do. The city is home to the flagship campus of the University of Wisconsin, as well as being the seat of government. There are also many great restaurants, museums, and other cultural amenities.
One thing that you do need to consider before settling down in Wisconsin is the weather. The Upper Midwest in general enjoys a wide range of temperatures and conditions throughout the year, and Madison is no exception. In the summer, temperatures can often reach the 90s, and humidity levels are high. In the winter, it is not uncommon to have temperatures that are well below freezing, and the city usually gets around 50 to 60 inches of snow a year.
Much of the cultural life in the city is found downtown, near the capitol building. State Street runs from the capitol to the campus of the university. Along this stretch are found many restaurants and shops, so it is a great place to come and spend an afternoon. In addition, the Overture Center is a world-class performing arts venue where you can see plays, go to the ballet, or even attend touring Broadway shows.
